Our History

The Scottish Rite Learning Center of South Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1984 to provide dyslexia therapy services to children with dyslexia. The Center also provided education to teachers as well as support for children with dyslexia and their families.

Our role expanded over time to provide graduate level professional development of teachers. In many cases this leads teachers to achieve certification as a Certified Academic Language Therapist. Our outreach has also led to many becoming qualified instructors to expand dyslexia therapy opportunities to a wider area of our region.
