The Pre-Flight Workshop is open to CALTs and Dyslexia Therapist Trainees. This workshop addresses three major components of reading instruction: Alphabet Knowledge, Phonological Awareness, and Reading Comprehension. It is designed for kindergarten, first grade, or second grade students who struggle with reading and may continue into the Take Flight program. According to evidence-based research, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge and oral language are key components that contribute significantly to the effectiveness of beginning reading and spelling instruction.

You will learn a combination of instructional techniques in each of these essential pre-reading and reading components through direct instruction and demonstration.

The Scottish Rite Learning Center of South Texas will be offering this workshop during Summer 2024.
