Turbo Start: A Dyslexia Curriculum for Newly Identified Students

 

Contains the five components of Effective Reading Instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension)Each component is taught developmentally using a direct, systematic, cumulative, multisensory method of introduction and practice to meet specific needs of newly identified students with dyslexiaThe content of Turbo Start is derived from the evidence-based Take Flight curriculum and provides foundational training in five specific components of reading intervention.

Nine-week, evidence-based dyslexia intervention

Taught by a Scottish Rite Learning Center of South Texas Certified Academic Language Therapist

Provides a jump start for newly identified students of all ages with dyslexia who need comprehensive dyslexia intervention while awaiting placement in an intervention group

One-on-one or small group instruction (no more than six students)

The Turbo Start Teacher Book is purchased directly from the Scottish Rite for Children Hospital.

The Scottish Rite Learning Center of South Texas teaches this topic at the SRLC or at your location if a large group is required. It consists of a half-day session.
